Australian Microcar: 1959 Goggomobil Dart (Buckle Motors, Sydney)

April 08, 2013

I cannot express what a thrill it was for me to see this at the 2013 Hotrod Nationals on Australia''s Gold Coast during my visit to see family. It was selling out as a promotions model but I guess that''s a small price to pay to be able to see this Australian classic.

This Dart Microcar was built in 1959. It has a 397cc inline 2 engine.

How does winning stuff sound?

I've set myself an ambitious target, and that is to unearth all of Japan's rusting, nostalgic gems. It's not going to be easy. They're shy creatures and prefer to remain hidden. And, limited time and funds mean they're likely to stay that way, which would be not cool! <More>
